Abstract

Kedudukan perempuan di gereja sebagai pemimpin sering dipermasalahkan. Masalah ini sering dikaitkan dengan kalimat Paulus dalam 1 TImotius 2:12 yang terkesan seperti membatasi peran perempuan dalam gereja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penafsiran istilah "authentein" dalam 1 Timotius 2:12, yang telah menjadi bahan perdebatan mengenai peran perempuan dalam gereja. Perdebatan ini berpusat pada interpretasi pernyataan Paulus bahwa perempuan tidak boleh "mengajar" atau "memiliki otoritas" atas laki-laki. Penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai perspektif mengenai makna "authentein", yang dapat ditafsirkan secara negatif atau positif tergantung pada konteksnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji kata aslinya untuk mendapatkan informasi maksud dari penulisan surat Paulus dalam ayat tersebut.
